Humane Society has plenty of pets ready for adoption

GLOBE — There is a lot of activity in the Humane Society right now. Of course  we have many dogs, puppies, cats and kittens waiting for that special person or family who will take them home and love them forever.

It is always an uneven relationship as pets seem to put more love and devotion into it than  humans, but it is a loving bond we all seem to need.

Cats can be seen at 669 N. Broad St. Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dogs are located at 150 W. Mesquite St. Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We invite you to follow us on Facebook where many of our pets are posted.

The Thrift Store at 150 W. Mesquite is loaded with Easter goods. You must stop in and see all of the adorable items.

The store is also restocked with clothing and household goods. We have a very nice store with bargains galore.

If you would like to donate, the Donation Center is located at 393 N  Broad St. across from Simply Sarah and next door to our Furniture Store.

Furniture Store? Yes, we have our own Furniture Store and we get some really great donations.

We have a new director, Tammy Termain, and she is doing a great job so stop in and say hi.

The Donation Center and Furniture Store are open Tuesday through Saturday from  10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Plans are underway for the 7th Annual Calendar Auction so mark your calendar for June 16th and I hope you saved your disco clothes as the theme is Catery Night Fever.

Maybe we should have a John Travolta contest to see who can dance like him the best. One thing for sure it will be a fun evening with good food and of course it is a great cause.

This year it will be held at the County Fairgrounds. More information on the big night will be coming.

We will also be raffling two handguns. One mans and one ladies and the ladies will include a beautiful purse to carry your prize in.

I will tell you more about this raffle next week as to the names and sizes of the guns and when tickets will be available.

Thank you to all of you who support us, we love you all.
